Arsenal make improved Zaha offer – but do they risk angering supporters?

Arsenal have reportedly made an improved offer to sign Wilfried Zaha, with Reiss Nelson heading in the opposite direction on loan, but would this be a mistake?

According to the Independent, the Gunners’ latest bid would see them pay an initial £55 million with another £10 million in add-ons for the Ivorian international, while also sending Nelson to Selhurst Park on loan.

Nelson is one of Arsenal’s most talented young players and he was expected to push for a first-team spot under Unai Emery during the coming season.

Arsenal may be looking at the bigger picture here and a season of regular Premier League football could do Nelson the world of good in the long run.

However, many Arsenal supporters may want to see Nelson stick around, with Zaha arriving as well.

Nelson is highly rated and would add another element of excitement for supporters to see one of their own bursting on to the scene.

Fans have not had much to get excited about in recent years and sending Nelson out of loan could be another move that angers supporters.
