Arsenal are thought to be tracking Dynamo Kiev midfielder Mykola Shaparenko – but would he be a good signing?

According to Caught Offside, the Gunners, along with Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham, are all keen on the 20-year-old after an impressive campaign last season.

The young Ukranian is regarded as a future star and excelled in a number of appearances last season, helping Kiev to the last 16 in the Europa League.

Shaparenko made 32 appearances for the club last season, most of which came in an attacking midfield role, and scored on seven occasions.

The 20-year-old can also play further forward on either flank and would provide Unai Emery with plenty of versatility.

The Gunners could also offer the player regular game time next season, with Aaron Ramsey’s departure yet to be filled at the Emirates Stadium.

Even though a transfer valuation isn’t reprted, Shaparenko, who is under contract with his current club until 2023, would more than likely be in the Gunners’ price range, with Emery keen on making ‘three or four’ big summer signings.

Shaparenko could well be one of them, with the young midfielder good on the ball, energetic and able to make late goalscoring runs into the box, three attributes that would be greatly welcomed in London next season.

Should Arsenal move for Shaparenko?
