Arsenal have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Ajax star Hakim Ziyech this summer – but will that prove to be a mistake by the Gunners?
According to Gunners source David Ornstein, the club have decided against bringing the Moroccan attacking midfielder to the Emirates this summer for £30 million.
Ornstein, talking to Arseblog, cited by Sport Bible, said:
Arsenal have analysed him and he’s not a player that they will be pursuing as far as I know.
I think he would welcome the move [to Arsenal]. Ajax would probably sell for around £30m, but that’s not on Arsenal’s agenda.

Previously, Arsenal would more than likely have jumped at the chance to sign a player like Ziyech for just £30 million in today’s market.
However, due to the Gunners’ tight transfer budget of £45 million, Unai Emery looks to have decided against bringing the 26-year-old to London.
Emery desperately needs to bolster his options across the backline and looks set to prioritise his summer spending on defensive additions.
Ziyech would certainly have brought flair and creativity to the Emirates after scoring 19 times and registering 16 assists in all competitions last season.
The Morroco international looks set to leave the Dutch giants ahead of the new season, and it could well prove to be a mistake by the Gunners not snapping up his services, however, only time will tell.
