Nkunku favours Arsenal over RB Leipzig, but what would he offer the Gunners?

Arsenal target Christopher Nkunku has reportedly put a move to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig on hold due to his preference to play for Arsenal, but what would the midfielder offer to the Gunners?

According to GFFN, who cite French outlet L’Equipe, Nkunku has delayed a €15million move to Leipzig amid interest from Arsenal, and the midfielder will reportedly choose to move to the Emirates this summer should the Gunners submit a firm offer to Paris Saint-Germain.

But what would the 21-year-old offer to Unai Emery if he completed a move this summer?

Nkunku began his career playing on the wing before converting to a central midfielder.

The 21-year-old came through the ranks at PSG whilst also training in the famous Clairefontaine centre in France, where the likes of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappe also developed their skills.

Nkunku’s versatility in the middle will certainly appeal to Emery, and the Arsenal boss would be able to deploy the Frenchman in a deep-lying midfield role as well as centrally and in an advanced position.

Emery would also be able to use Nkunku in the wider areas due to his experience of playing on the wing prior to his switch to centre midfield.

His vision and ability on the ball would also suit Emery’s style, as Nkunku has the talent to beat his man whilst in possession and also pick a pass to create chances for his teammates.

Nkunku would also offer Arsenal a physical presence in midfield, though the Frenchman could need time to adapt to the nature of the Premier League.

However, despite being just 21-years-old, the midfielder has amassed over 80 appearances for PSG in all competitions, and at a reported €15million fee, he appears to be a bargain for the Gunners and their limited transfer budget.
