Barcelona are willing to part ways with Arsenal and Manchester United target Samuel Umtiti this summer – but should the Gunners meet the La Liga champions’ demands?
According to Spanish outlet Sport, cited by TEAMTalk, Barcelona are willing to offload the World Cup winner ahead of the new season, however, the Catalan giants won’t accept an offer under €60 million.
Unai Emery is keen on bolstering his defensive options at the back, and a move for Umtiti could prove to be an excellent one.
The 25-year-old has been a regular at the Nou Camp over the past three years despite enduring numerous injury problems last season.
The former Lyon man has plenty of top-level experience behind him and his dominant presence could be just what the Gunners need ahead of the new season.
However, a deal for Umtiti could be hard to financially fund, with the Gunners reportedly having just £45 million available to them this summer.
That would mean Arsenal would have to sell numerous first-team stars to afford the defender, something which Emery would more than likely not be willing to do.
Even though the France international would certainly improve Emery’s backline options, Arsenal look set to be priced out of a deal for the player, which could see rivals Manchester United take full advantage.
