Atletico Madrid are reportedly showing interest in Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin and could test Unai Emery’s resolve by offering Vitolo as part of a potential deal.
Diego Simeone is said to be keen on bolstering his ageing defence this summer and Bellerin, despite currently recovering from a knee injury, has emerged as a primary target.
According to the Telegraph, Atletico would be willing to offer Emery the chance to reunite with Vitolo after a successful relationship at Sevilla where the pair won three Europa League crowns together.
Bellerin still has four years left on his current Arsenal contract and was valued at £50million last summer, an amount Juventus weren’t interested in paying.
It’s unlikely that valuation will have been lowered, so Vitolo could play a crucial role in a potential return to his homeland Spain.
The 29-year-old can operate on the right, left and down the middle in the final third and has 12 Spain caps, however, has managed just one goal during his two years in Madrid.
