Arsenal look set to rival Everton and Manchester United in the race for Torino centre-back Armando Izzo, but can he be the man to solve the Gunners’ defensive problems?
According to Sports Mole via Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Unai Emery has identified Izzo as one of his main transfer targets this summer, as the Arsenal boss looks to strengthen his defensive options.
But can the 27-year-old be the answer to the Gunners’ recent defensive problems?

Izzo was a key figure for Torino last season, and the Italian was part of a defence that conceded just 37 goals all season.
His ability to read the game and position himself well at the back for the Serie A side last season earned him a call up to the Italy squad, and the defender made his debut in a 6-0 victory over Lichtenstein in March.
The 27-year-old’s ability on the ball is also something that Emery will no doubt be a fan of given his desire to play out from the back, and Izzo possess the quality required from a modern-day centre-back.

However the Italy international will have to adapt his game slightly should he move to the Emirates this summer, after being part of a Torino back line that looked to sit slightly deeper and hit teams on the break.
Arsenal meanwhile will be looking to play on the front foot and at a quicker pace in an attempt to break teams down, but at 27-years-old, Izzo appears to have the ability and maturity to adapt his game.
