Arsenal are yet to make their first signing of the summer as they prepare for the 2019/20 campaign.
The Gunners failed to qualify for the Champions League again, meaning that they will be competing in the Europa League – after losing in the final to Chelsea last month.
Unai Emery led Arsenal to 5th in the Premier League in his first season at the club and he will be hoping to go one step further next year and secure a top-four finish – competing with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, as Liverpool and Manchester City seem certainties to place in the top two.
To do so, Arsenal will need to improve their squad in the transfer window before it ends midway through August.
Where do Arsenal need to strengthen? It’s fair to say that adding a winger would be a great boost to their squad, so here are some that they could look to target…
Ryan Fraser
The Scottish winger enjoyed a sublime season with Bournemouth in the Premier League, with only Eden Hazard registering more assists. He would be an excellent addition to Arsenal’s squad.
Yannick Carrasco
Currently playing in China, Arsenal could tempt Carrasco into moving back to Europe. The Belgian international is great with the ball at his feet and has an eye for goal.
Wilfried Zaha
Zaha has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer and it’s not hard to see why. The Crystal Palace man was in incredible form last season for Roy Hodgson’s side.
Said Benrahma
Although untested in a top league, Benrahma could be a shrewd purchase for Arsenal. The Algerian’s style of play would suit Emery’s system and he could be a great prospect for the future.
Jarrod Bowen
Another player who has only played, regularly, at Championship level. Bowen is a prolific winger and could add a different dimension to Arsenal’s attack if they brought him in from Hull.
Alexis Claude-Maurice
The Lorient forward has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal after scoring 14 goals in Ligue 2. The Frenchman can play as a winger, an attacking midfielder and as a striker, offering a useful versatility to Emery’s squad.
