Three Positions Arsenal Need To Change This Summer

Arsenal fans experienced a change of manager for the first time in two decades when former PSG manager Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger before the start of the season.

There were high hopes from the Gunners fans, who can’t wait to return back to Champions League competition.

Unfortunately, the North London club didn’t make the top four at the end of the season, though, and there only hope of returning to Champions League for next season was dented as they were mauled to a 4-1 defeat in Baku against Chelsea.

With the Gunners out of Champions League football for next season, Unai Emery will only be handed only £50m transfer kitty, according to Arsenal Blogs, and with BetEasy, you wager some bets on which players the Gunners would end up signing this summer transfer window.

To many Arsenal fans, the Spanish tactician has failed to live up to his billings, while, others believe the manager can do better in the upcoming season if he makes some changes to his team at the ongoing summer transfer market.

Which position should Unai Emery improve and who is the best player for such position?

Right-back position

The Gunners were poor at the back of the pitch all through the season as they conceded cheap goals. Unai Emery must find a lasting solution to his fragile defensive unit, especially the right-back position.

Possible Solution: Max Aarons

Though many might want to disagree with me, the best and affordable player to lure to the Emirates Stadium is the 19-year-old Norwich City star.

The youngster was phenomenal for the Canaries this term and he played a huge part in ensuring that they gain automatic promotion to Premier League.

He will definitely provide stiff competition for Maitland-Niles in the coming season.

Both wings

The Gunners relied so much on former Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hale End academy product Alex Iwobi to provide many goalscoring opportunities from the flanks but none was up to the task.

Emery must find quality wingers, who will provide many clear-cut chances for Aubameyang and Lacazette to convert into goals.

Possible solution: Xavier Amaechi (Arsenal academy product) or Bukayo Saka (Arsenal Youth Product)

Attacking midfield position:

With Mesut Ozil’s future up in the air and Aaron Ramsey’s departure, it is certain that Emery must find a capable replacement for both players this summer.

Alex Iwobi isn’t really the best player for the Gunners’ No10 position; hence, Emery must complete the signing of a world-class playmaker this summer.

Possible addition:

Mario Gotze
