AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi this summer. Is it the right time for him to move on? 

According to Calcio Mercato, Milan have shortlisted Mustafi as they look to strengthen their defence at the end of the season.

The Italian giants are looking to bolster their ranks and have targeted Mustafi as a potential option.

Arsenal are said to be looking for a fee in the region of €20m for the German central defender, who joined from Valencia for €41m in 2016.Is it time for Mustafi to part ways with The Gunners and move to Italy with Milan? We believe so.

It is well-documented that Arsenal have struggled all season defensively and that there needs to be changes in the summer – that could start with the sale of Mustafi to Milan.

The German international has, too often, produced mistakes costing Arsenal point in the league – with the club now set to miss out on a top four place, although they are in the final of the Europa League.

Sokratis, whilst he has also made some mistakes, is regarded as Arsenal’s best centre-back and could be the starting point of the club’s new-look back four next season. With Laurent Koscielny also at the club, there is an opening for Mustafi to leave.

Unai Emery will surely want to make signings of his own, in terms of centre-backs, this summer and the money brought in from selling Mustafi could fund a move for his replacement.
