Arsenal are reportedly aiming to complete a €35 million move to sign Djene Dakonam from Getafe this summer and should a deal go through, it could be their best piece of business for some time.
Marca claims that Unai Emery is eager to sign the Getafe man when the transfer window opens and with a release clause of €35 million, there are plenty of reasons for Arsenal fans to be optimistic ahead of next season.

Some of the club’s recruitment in recent years has been questionable to say the least, especially when you look at some of the defensive-minded players that have been brought in.
Djene has been one of the best defenders in La Liga this season, helping Getafe push for Champions League football, which is another story in itself.
At 27, his best years are still ahead of him and he is more than capable of playing across the backline or even in midfield, providing the Gunners with further squad depth.
His one red card and 10 yellows this season may be a bit of a worry for supporters, but Djene looks ready for a big move and with Arsenal floundering at the back under Emery, this is a deal that makes sense from all corners.
