Arsenal’s top four hopes took another massive hit as they lost 3-1 to Wolves on Wednesday night.
After losing 3-2 to Crystal Palace on Sunday, Arsenal fans can be forgiven for expecting to see a much better display against Wolves.
Instead, Arsenal found themselves 3-0 down before half-time. Greek defender Sokratis pulled one back late on, but it was a mere consolation for Unai Emery’s side.
Here are four things we learned from the game…
Emery could do better
Regardless of how poor the squad is, the last two results have been appalling. Perhaps he needs more time to implement his style of play on the club, but there can’t be too many more showings like this one.
New centre-back needs to be sorted ASAP
Arsenal, more than anything else, NEED to sign a new central defender in the summer. They need to tie up a deal for a top centre-back to improve their squad.
Europa League again?
Unless Arsenal can win the Europa League this season, Champions League football is looking less and less likely for the Gunners next year.
Mkhitaryan needs to go
The Armenian needs to either be sold and replaced or benched and replaced. Arsenal need far more quality in the wide areas, and he just does not provide it.
