After getting the better of Napoli, Arsenal will be aiming to keep their stunning home form going when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the table, just a point behind third-placed Tottenham, who suffered a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday. Hence, the Gunners have a chance to leapfrog their rivals by winning tomorrow.
However, Roy Hodgson’s side will have something to say on that. Palace, as a team, are better equipped to play away from home and trouble teams. They have already beaten Manchester City at the Etihad and came close to getting a point at Anfield.
Hence, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to just turn up and expect three points tomorrow. But they have the home form and momentum to possibly overpower the Eagles.
In terms of injury update, Aaron Ramsey picked up a hamstring strain in Naples and is out for this game. Granit Xhaka has a minor hip problem and is a doubt for tomorrow.
Here’s how we think Emery may line his team:
GK - Bernd Leno
He is their first-choice keeper in the league and should start against Palace tomorrow.
RB - Shkodran Mustafi
The Germany international has played at right-back before. He may need to do so tomorrow as well.
CB - Sokratis Papastathopoulos
He has had a terrific season so far and should continue to start at the back for the Gunners.
CB - Laurent Koscielny
The captain played very well against Napoli and would be hoped to do the same against Palace.
LB - Nacho Monreal
The Spaniard played as a left-sided centre-back in Naples. It won’t be a surprise to see him at left-back tomorrow.
CM - Lucas Torreira
With the expected absence of Xhaka and Ramsey for this game, Torreira will be the man to hold the midfield together.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
Amidst midfield injuries, we can see the youngster starting tomorrow.
RW - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian star’s quality from the right-hand side would be required in a game where Palace are expected to sit deep.
CAM - Mesut Ozil
Against a deep-defending team at home, the guile and precision of Ozil would be of upmost requirement.
LW - Alex Iwobi
The winger came off the bench against Napoli for the last 22 minutes. He should be starting against Palace and look to stretch the defence on the left-hand side.
ST - Alexandre Lacazette
Scored a fantastic free-kick and played 68 minutes against Napoli. The Frenchman is in line to lead the line tomorrow.
