Arsenal ran out 1-0 winners in Naples on Thursday evening, in what was surely one of the Gunners’ most satisfying results this season.
Alexandre Lacazette’s first-half free kick was the difference on the night, and put to bed any hopes Napoli had of overturning their 2-0 deficit from the first-leg.
You, the Read Arsenal faithful, voted using our ‘Duel’ feature to rank Arsenal’s best players on the night, and we will now run through the entire starting XI in reverse order of how you voted.
11) Sead Kolasinac
Coming in at number 11, Sead Kolasinac will surely have better outings than this in the Arsenal shirt.
10) Aaron Ramsey
The man that I would have said had the worst game on Thursday, Aaron Ramsey looked to be severely off the pace, and eventually left the field of play injured.
9) Petr Cech
The shot-stopper had little to do, such was the quality of the job done in front of him.
8) Nacho Monreal
Looked solid in the back three on Thursday, and may have an important depth role next season.
7) Granit Xhaka
The midfielder is consistently one of the most important creative outlets in this team.
6) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The star man will affect games more substantially than this, but he was still a danger Napoli had to accommodate for.
5) Lucas Torreira
The defensive midfielder has grown in importance this season, and could go to the next level next season.
4) Ainsley Maitland-Niles
A seriously mature performance from the youngster.
3) Sokratis Papastathopoulos
Sokratis looked excellent in the back three, and unperturbed with the challenge facing him.
2) Alexandre Lacazette
A gorgeous free-kick means Lacazette was ranked as the Gunners’ second best player.
1) Laurent Koscielny
A terrific performance from the Frenchman meant Arsenal kept a clean sheet in one of Europe’s most hostile environments. Not many teams do that!
