Arsenal will be aiming to complete the job they started last week against Napoli in the Europa League last-eight tie.
The Gunners won the first leg 2-0 at home, the key thing being the non-concession of the away goal. Now, they are going to play the Italian side in Naples, hoping to do enough to reach the semi-finals of this competition.
Arsenal’s away record has been horrendous in all competitions this season, hence, they must be looking to improve on that and make it tough for Napoli at the San Paolo.
Unai Emery is yet to find the right balance in his formation to field a team that is capable of restricting a good opposition away from home.
If that’s the case, he might as well play on the front foot, look for an away goal and then play on the counter.
The gaffer has had injury issues to deal with, but he is expected to have Laurent Koscielny and Lucas Torreira fit to start the game.
Here’s how we predict Emery to field his team tomorrow:
GK - Petr Cech
The veteran is their Europa League goalkeeper, therefore, he should be in goal tomorrow.
RWB - Ainsley Maitland-Niles
The youngster came off the bench against Watford, most probably with this game in mind. He is in good form and would need to be at his best tomorrow.
CB - Shkodran Mustafi
The Germany international was impressive in Arsenal’s win over Watford away from home. He deserves to keep his place in the team.
CB - Sokratis
If fit and available for selection, Sokratis is probably the first centre-back Emery picks when he is finalising the line-up. The Greek star has had a fantastic first season at Arsenal.
CB - Laurent Koscielny
It is vital for Arsenal that their captain is back fit. He would be an important player for them tomorrow.
LWB - Nacho Monreal
Sead Kolasinac is better at left wing-back going forward, but he has the tendency to leave spaces in behind. Hence, a more experienced option in Monreal could be better for that position against Napoli.
CM - Lucas Torreira
Amidst injury doubts, the Uruguay international is almost certain to be fit and starting tomorrow.
CM - Granit Xhaka
Even though Xhaka has the tendency of losing the plot in midfield, he is better than most midfielders at Arsenal. His calmness and passing from the quarter-back position could be key tomorrow.
RW - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenia international starting at right wing would bring many things to the team. He can track back and help the defence, while being a potent threat on the counter.
LW - Aaron Ramsey
He would be aiming to tuck in from the left-hand side, support the attacks in possession and track back to aid the midfield without it.
ST - Alexandre Lacazette
The Frenchman was rested for the league game on Monday with tomorrow in mind. He is almost certain to lead the line at Naples.
