According to Sky Sports, Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia is in with a shout of staying in the Premier League once his contract at Old Trafford expires, with West Ham and Arsenal keen to sign him.
The report goes on to add that the Ecuadorian international’s father has revealed that the Gunners are a potential suitor for his son, while West Ham are a fellow English side being linked with Valencia.
Outside the Premier League, Serie A side Inter are also said to be interested, as well as a club in China.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer and his father has confirmed his son’s intentions of leaving Manchester.
Luis Valencia stated to El Universo, an Ecuadorian news outlet:
Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one club from China are options, but in football everything is changing. He wants to choose the best option, but above all he wants to sign a contract for two years.
Not for the money, but for peace and hopefully, he told me, be hired by a team that fights for important things
Arsenal may need to dip into the market for a defender this summer, with Hector Bellerin still sidelined with a long-term injury.
