Arsenal will hope to take the fourth place back in the league when they face rivals Manchester United at the Emirates tomorrow evening.
The Gunners self-imploded on Thursday in the Europa League, but their domestic form has been encouraging in the past few weeks.
They were slightly disappointed to not get all the three points against Tottenham away at Wembley last Saturday, which tells the current mood in the camp.
However, up next for Unai Emery’s men is a resurgent Manchester United, who are in their peak form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The confidence level has gone up a notch after making history in Paris on Wednesday. The Red Devils are yet to lose away from home since the managerial change.
Hence, Arsenal will have to be at their top game otherwise United could cement their fourth place and make it tough for the Londoners.
Emery won’t have Lucas Torreira as he starts a three-game suspension.
Here’s how we think the Spaniard could line his team up tomorrow:
GK - Bernd Leno
The German is Arsenal’s first-choice keeper now and there is no disputing his place in the team.
RWB - Ainsley Maitland-Niles
The youngster has been on the bench for the past couple of games. He is predicted to start at right wing-back tomorrow.
CB - Shkodran Mustafi
The German did a reasonable job at right-back against Tottenham. But United may exploit his lack of pace. Hence, Mustafi should play in central defence.
CB - Sokratis
After making two bad challenges and getting sent off on Thursday, Sokratis owes his team a performance tomorrow.
CB - Laurent Koscielny
The captain played well in the north London derby but struggled a bit against Rennes. His form would be crucial to how Arsenal defend tomorrow.
LWB - Sead Kolasinac
Nacho Monreal played last Saturday and on Thursday as well. Hence, Kolasinac is predicted to replace him at left wing-back.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
With Torreira suspended, Guendouzi is in line to start in midfield.
CM - Granit Xhaka
The Swiss international has improved his league form and would be a key player in midfield tomorrow.
RW - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian international has been in good nick since coming back from injury. He must be gunning to deliver a great performance against his old club.
ST - Alexandre Lacazette
The Frenchman was suspended for the Europa League game, hence, he’s had a full week to be ready for this game.
LW - Alex Iwobi
He was playing very well before getting subbed off against Rennes. The Nigerian international must now show consistency by doing the same things tomorrow.
