Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their attempts to sign AC Milan winger Suso, the Daily Star report.
Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that the Spanish international is struggling to agree a new deal with the Italian giants, with high wage demands appearing to be an issue.
Gunners boss Unai Emery has shown a keen interest in the creative midfielder, with Suso’s current release clause set at £40 million.
Arsenal are interested in bringing Suso back to the Premier League, with Spanish giants Athletico Madrid also reportedly monitoring the situation.
The former Liverpool winger has been a standout performer under Gennaro Gattuso at the San Siro this season, finding the back of the net on six occasions in all competitions.
Boss Gattuso is hopeful that Suso will sign a new deal with the club, with the former Milan midfielder praising the winger for his contribution to the team.
My job is to coach, I am not an agent or a sports director. He deserves a contract renewal, but it depends on the management.
There is great respect for Suso and he is contributing a lot to the team.
He immediately made himself available after coming back from a leg injury [in January].
Arsenal remain firm favourites to secure Suso’s services in the summer and if the Spaniard refuses to sign a new deal, the Gunners could land the winger for his release clause price.
