Seaman: Ozil’s future at Arsenal doesn’t look good

Arsenal legend David Seaman has admitted that Mesut Ozil’s future at the club “doesn’t look good”, as reported on talkSPORT.

The playmaker has fallen out of favour with manager Unai Emery, who is said to be disappointed with the German’s attitude.

Ozil has not featured for Arsenal since Boxing Day where he was hauled off at half-time in the 1-1 draw against Brighton.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club, with some Italian sides understood to be monitoring his current situation.

Seaman believes he hasn’t done enough to cement a place in Emery’s starting lineup. He said:

There something really weird going on and I don’t think we’re getting the full story. It doesn’t look good. He’s the top-earning player at the club and he’s just not doing it.

He’s not even doing it when he’s actually on the pitch as well, he’s not playing brilliantly. That can cause a lot of problems, especially with the amount of money he’s getting.

It can cause problems because the guy who is getting the most money is supposed to be the guy who is setting the example.

But when you see that he’s not doing it, and he’s not doing regularly it breeds a little bit of discontent. The players get the hump with you.

Arsenal face Chelsea this weekend in a huge match in the race for the top four and Ozil will be itching to play in what should be a pulsating London derby.
