Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly preparing to say farewell to Mesut Ozil.
Left out of the squad for the 1-0 defeat at West Ham on Saturday, the Spaniard claimed that the players named in the starting lineup and on the bench were those who ‘deserved to be there’.
Quoted by the Daily Mail, Emery said:
The players who were here were the ones who deserved to be at this match. Sometimes he [Ozil] is helping us, at other moments not helping us because of injury or because maybe the match is not for him.

Similarly, the German midfielder was left out of the team that faced Bournemouth earlier this season, with his manager stating he lacked the necessary physical intensity to meet the challenge of the Cherries.
It seems as though the relationship between Emery and Ozil is now irreparable, with a deal in place to bring Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez to North London on loan for the rest of the season believed to be close.
The Gunners have yet to receive any concrete interest in the disaffected play-maker, who is deterring any potential suitors with his astronomical £350,000-per-week wage.
