# Arsenal eyeing swoop for Barella

Arsenal are eyeing up a swoop for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella as they look to replace Aaron Ramsey in the summer.

[According to Calcio Mercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/arsenal-barella-per-sostituire-ramsey-99016), Barella is attracting interest from Arsenal, with Ramsey set to leave the club.

Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season and Arsenal have already confirmed that they will not be offering him a new deal.

The likes of Juventus, PSG, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with the Welshman, who scored against Fulham this week.

Barella, meanwhile, has been impressing in the Serie A for Cagliari in recent seasons and has been capped four times by Italy this year.

Unai Emery wants to add more depth to his midfield options, as well as replace Ramsey, and was linked with a move for Barella last summer.

The 21-year-old has already made 82 Serie A appearances for Cagliari and attracted interest from a host of clubs in Europe.
