Arsenal will only pursue a deal to sign Chelsea’s Gary Cahill if their defensive injury crisis continues to worsen.
The Telegraph reports that the Gunners are keeping a watchful eye on his situation at Stamford Bridge.
Cahill is preparing to leave the Blues in January and wants to secure a loan move before leaving permanently at the end of the campaign.
Arsenal have been linked with the player in recent weeks, but the report claims that both Fulham and West Ham are ahead of the Gunners in the race to sign him.

Injuries have been mounting at the back for Arsenal with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Rob Holding both long-term absentees.
Laurent Koscielny had also previously been struggling with injuries, but recently returned to first-team action.
Arsenal have had an unfortunate run with injuries this season and any more could leave them with little option but to sign added reinforcements in January.
