# Arsenal join race for Max Aarons

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Norwich City right-back Max Aarons in January.

[According to The Mirror, via The BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip), Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out to land the talented youngster next month.

The report claims that Aarons is valued at £15m by Norwich, but they will only let him leave if they are able to have him back on loan for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene at Carrow Road in August and has only lost two senior games since his first-team debut.

He has scored and assisted goals from right-back, whilst also showing that he is a solid defender going back towards his own goal.

Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his defensive options and has identified Aarons as a potential long-term right-back for future seasons.

However, they will have to battle hard to beat Tottenham to the signing.
