Arsenal set to sign Ever Banega in January

Arsenal are reportedly set to sign Ever Banega from Sevilla during the January transfer window.

According to reports in the player’s native Argentina, the Gunners boss has requested a January deal to bring the midfielder to the Premier League.

The player is said to be ‘close’ to leaving Sevilla, with the window set to open in the coming days.

Banega has been linked with a move to the Gunners from the moment that Emery replaced Arsene Wenger in the dugout.

The pair worked together at Sevilla and have maintained a good relationship, with the new Arsenal manager previously bringing the best out of Banega during their time in La Liga.

The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer, but after a regrettable time away from Sevilla at Inter recently, the player has been reluctant to move away from the Spanish side.
