Our man of the match: Tottenham (League Cup)

Arsenal were knocked out of the League Cup as they lost 2-0 to Tottenham in the Quarter-Final clash at The Emirates.

A goal in each half from Heung-Min Son and then Dele Alli secured the victory for Spurs, as Arsenal failed to find any sort of rhythm in the game.

Emery’s men never really had a grip of the match and were punished for defensive lapses with two great finishes from Tottenham.

Despite Arsenal’s performance, we are going to attempt to pick a man of the match from Emery’s side.

We’ve gone with… Granit Xhaka.

Despite playing out of position as a centre-back, Xhaka had a solid game at the back.

The Spurs goals were down, in part, to mistakes from Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny, with Xhaka defending well when called upon.

Xhaka made a number of impressive tackles and battled well from start to finish, unlike some his teammates.
