Can Arsenal put things right against Tottenham?

Unai Emery’s Arsenal side will be looking to rebound from the loss to Southampton when they host Tottenham in the League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday.

The Gunners were on the end of a ‘new manager bounce’ as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side won their first game under his management.

Sunday’s meeting was the Austrian’s first home game since taking over at the Saints and was always unlikely to be an easy ride for Arsenal.

A home win against Huddersfield the previous weekend saw Arsenal maintain pace with Chelsea, with both teams locked on 34 points in the Premier League table. However, the Arsenal loss, combined with a Chelsea win, saw the Blues move three points clear of their London rivals.

So, the best way to put things right for Arsenal would be to defeat their North London rivals in the Carabao Cup

Despite the loss to the Saints, there is still a feel-good factor still buzzing around the Gunners and Arsenal will head into the game as favourites and depending on your football betting strategy, you’d be forgiven for thinking this will result in another victory.

Unai Emery has been very good since coming in at Arsenal and another win over Tottenham would go a long way in boosting morale around the club.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking for revenge for the 4-2 defeat that Arsenal handed them earlier this month and the Spurs boss is keen to win a trophy, as Spurs have been excellent since he arrived, but there is no silverware in the cabinet to show for it.

Despite the fact that we are well in the midst of the busy Christmas period, both sides will likely put out full strength sides in the game with not only a place in the semi-finals but the local bragging rights, up for grabs.
