Revealed: Arsenal’s three man centre back shortlist
Arsenal have identified three men they’d like to sign in January.
With the Gunners in the market for a central defender, Unai Emery has worked out three players he’d like to see make the trip to North London.
Rob Holding is set for a lengthy injury lay-off, and despite Laurent Koscielny preparing to play for the first time in seven months Thursday, Arsenal still seem ready to add to their ranks.
The Mirror claim that Arsenal are looking at Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill, Manchester United outcast Eric Bailly, or Fernando Calero of Real Valladolid.
Interest in Bailly from the Emirates has been well known, but would most likely cost more than the other pair.
Cahill has just a few months left on his Chelsea contract, and Calero is said to be available for just £10 million – his release clause.
Arsenal had first bolstered their defensive structure in the summer with the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, but it seems Emery has a ways to go before he gets the back line he wants.
