Champions League football key in Arsenal’s hopes of landing Aouar
Any potential deal for Arsenal to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon will depend on whether or not the Gunners make the top four this season.
According to France Football, as cited on Sport Witness, the Gunners are keen to complete a deal for the player.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is reportedly a huge admirer of the player and would love to sign Aouar as the man to replace the departing Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season.
Arsenal are looking to secure a deal for a Ramsey replacement, with the Welshman set to leave the club at the end of his contract next summer.
With the deal likely to cost around €40 million, the Champions League revenue would come as a huge boost in the Gunners’ transfer kitty.
Aouar is being heavily linked with a Premier League move as he continues to earn rave reviews in France.
The Lyon star has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, with the 20-year-old not short of potential suitors ahead of the coming transfer windows.
