Arsenal told to meet eye-watering asking price for Dembele
The Ousmane Dembele saga seems to be drawing towards a merciful conclusion, with the news that Arsenal must pay the Barca winger’s release clause should they want to sign him, according to Mundo Deportivo.
And what is that release clause, I hear you ask?
Just the £360 million, as it goes.
I’ll give you a moment to grieve.
The Gunners had been linked with a move for the 21-year-old in the summer, and the rumours had persisted throughout the autumn and into the winter.
In the meantime, however, Dembele has made himself something of a star for Barcelona.
With 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season, the World Cup winner has scored eight goals, and proven to be a devastating attacking component in a potent forward line.
Having arrived from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, the Catalan outfit seem to not be done with their new acquisition just yet.
It seems Arsenal will have to do make do without Ousmane Dembele. On to the next one!
