Reported Arsenal target Houssem Aouar has admitted that he would love to play under current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola one day.
The Gunners have been linked with a swoop for the promising midfielder, with reports in November indicating that Unai Emery has instructed the club to consider a move for the player in January.
However, a host of other prestigious European outfits have also been linked with Aouar, who has gone from strength to strength since establishing himself in Lyon’s first-team plans.
Manchester City are reported to be among the potential suitors for the youngster, who has clear ambitions of playing under Guardiola at some stage in the future.
Speaking to French news outlet RMC Sport, as cited by GFFN via Twitter, Aouar said:
Honestly, one day I would love to be managed by Pep Guardiola. We see football the same way.
The 20-year-old is a key part of Bruno Genesio’s plans at Lyon, however, and it will be difficult for clubs to lure him away from his homeland in the immediate future.
Aouar has scored five goals from midfield in Ligue 1 this season.
