Arsenal will not be able to recall defender Calum Chambers from his loan spell at Fulham.
The London Evening Standard have confirmed that the defender will remain at Craven Cottage, despite the recent injury crisis that has emerged at the Emirates.
With Laurent Koscielny still struggling, Arsenal are now left with just two senior recognised central defenders.
It follows claims that Rob Holding is set to miss the rest of the season after it was confirmed he suffered ligament damage against Manchester United earlier this week.
Following the injury, it had been claimed that Unai Emery could look to bring Chambers back to the club, but that no longer appears possible.
Chambers has endured a mixed time on loan at Fulham but has impressed under Claudio Ranieri during his short time in charge, with the Italian opting to play the Englishman further afield in a midfield role.
