Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has hailed Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele as a ‘special talent’.
As reported by the Metro, Mislintat explained to Zeit just how highly he rates the Frenchman, amid suggestions he could be on the move in the near future.
It was Mislintat who played a key role in the deal to take Dembele from Rennes in Ligue 1 to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.
I saw him, he had not even played for Stade Rennes in the first team. I bet he did not know which foot he used in certain situations because he just did not think about it. I felt this is a really special player.
Following a difficult spell at Barcelona, Dembele has been heavily linked with moves away from the Nou Camp.
Arsenal and Liverpool were both touted as potential destinations for the player, but it remains to be seen if the Frenchman will be on the move in January.
Talk of a move away from the La Liga giants has slowed down after it was revealed that Barcelona are not interested in loaning him out for the remainder of the campaign.
