Mesut Özil to miss fifth game in a row

The Evening Standard claim Mesut Özil will miss a fifth consecutive Gunners game on Saturday, having been ruled out of his side’s match with Huddersfield.

The 30-year-old has been struggling with a back injury in recent weeks, and hasn’t appeared for Arsenal since the 1-1 draw with Wolves on Remembrance Weekend.

Manager Unai Emery revealed that the German had been training away from the first-team and would continue to do so for the immediate future.

Özil has made 12 appearances in all competitions so far this season, and has scored four goals in those opportunities. Adding four assists, the midfielder had started to look more comfortable in Emery’s setup, after some rather obvious teething problems at the beginning of the Spaniard’s reign.

Arsenal could also be without Aaron Ramsey at the weekend, after twisting his ankle against Manchester United in Wednesday evening’s 2-2 draw.
