Arsenal manager Unai Emery has responded to Tottenham Hotspur fans who were racist towards striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Gabon international had a banana thrown towards him after scoring and celebrating in front of the away fans.
Emery was angry with the disgraceful behaviour towards his striker and revealed that he has no acceptance for that type of behaviour.
As reported on the Daily Mail, Emery said:
I don’t accept this behaviour, and nobody accepts it. I think the [police] are doing their work
The incident is a flashback to the darker days of English football, where racism was rife.
Police have identified the fans through the help of Spurs and Arsenal and four of them have been charged.
The 29-year-old striker’s two goals now see him leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot with ten goals already this season.
