Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Danish defender Joachim Andersen as they look to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to his signature.
It was widely reported last week that Mauricio Pochettino’s side had held talks with the player’s representatives to discuss a deal and they are now keeping a close eye on his performances as they ponder a move.
TuttoMercatoWeb report that Arsenal’s London rivals had a scout watching the player during Sampdoria’s meeting with Genoa over the weekend.
The game finished 1-1 with Andersen playing a full 90 minutes, as expected.
A host of clubs have been heavily linked with a deal to sign Andersen, who has been impressing in Serie A this season.
Sampdoria are now facing an increasingly tough battle to try and keep hold of the player for the rest of the season.
With interest mounting, offers are expected to come in thick and fast during the January transfer window.
