Young French defender Anthony Goelzer has revealed that Arsenal are his ‘dream club’ and he’d love to join the Gunners in the future.
The Valenciennes defender has revealed his admiration for the club in a recent interview with La Voix du Nord.
Arsenal, it’s my dream. Or at least in the English league. It’s an incomparable championship with a lot of very big teams. All games are tight, the game never stops, with a lot of intensity. It’s beautiful to watch.
Any deal to join the Gunners is not expected to be imminent, but Goelzer is certainly a name to keep an eye on going forward.
During Arsene Wenger’s time at the club, Arsenal were no strangers to the lower divisions of French football.
The Gunners would often drop into the lower regions of France in a bid to sign a potential bargain.
Unai Emery is expected to be busy over the next couple of transfer markets, with the defence an area that many believe needs improving.
There are concerns over the long-term future of Hector Bellerin, while the ageing Nacho Monreal is also likely to be replaced in the not too distant future.
