Arsenal said to be in the race to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, rivalling the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Daily Mail reports that the Gunners are interested in bringing the French youth international to the club.
The report claims that the Gunners have been scouting him for some time now.
The claims follow suggestions in France that claimed Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri was particularly keen to sign the midfielder either in January or the summer window.
Aouar is very highly rated at Lyon and his performances have attracted attention from Liverpool and Barcelona in the past.
The Reds are said to view the player as someone who could finally fill the void left by Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
Lyon are unlikely to consider any January interest in the player, meaning a number of clubs could be battling it out for the player at the end of the season.
