Atlético Mineiro defender Emerson has revealed that he is pleased to be attracting interest from Arsenal.
When discussing his future with O Tempo, as cited on Sport Witness, the youngster explained that the links to the Premier League will inspire him to improve his game further.
This is very gratifying for me, it only gives me more fuel to work harder. But regardless of that I’m still focused on Atletico, I don’t think about it now. My head is on the last three fixtures, I’m 100% focused on it.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be keeping a close eye on the player, while some reports have gone as far as suggesting the Gunners are in advanced talks over a deal.
Several clubs in and around Europe have been linked with Emerson, who is earning rave reviews in Brazil.
Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Benfica have all been credited with an interest recently.
According to Sport Witness, the report states the Brazilian outfit are looking for a fee of around £8 million for Emerson’s services.
The 19-year-old is very highly rated in Brazil and looks set to be a name to keep an eye on in the future.
