Arsenal prepare to take second run at signing Bailly

The Metro claim that Arsenal are preparing a second bid to sign Manchester United centre back Eric Bailly.

The Ivorian has made just six appearances for his club this year, as manager Jose Mourinho seems to have decided his style of play cannot accommodate the 24-year-old.

Arsenal had made an attempt to sign the defender in the summer, as part of an effort to overhaul the back four ahead of the start of the season.

New signings Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos were intended to tighten those defences, but manager Unai Emery is still on the lookout for new recruits.

Chief among which, so it would seem, is Bailly.

Signed from Villarreal in 2016 for £30 million, United have been less than enamoured with their big money addition.

Bailly has made 63 appearances in his time in Salford. He would also bring a certain amount of international pedigree to the Emirates, having received 33 Cote d’Ivoire caps.
