Arsenal have reportedly been joined by Inter Milan in the race to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
Barella has been linked with a whole host of clubs from across Europe in recent months, with the Emirates Stadium touted as a potential destination for the promising Italian midfielder.
Inter Milan are believed to be on the lookout for fresh creativity in the central areas ahead of the January transfer window and according to claims from Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato, Barella has emerged as a target.

The Serie A giants are understood to be keen on utilising their strong relations with Cagliari to secure a deal for Barella, who has continued to emerge as one of Italy’s most exciting young players.
If potential suitors such as Arsenal and Inter are to make respective moves for the 21-year-old, however, they will be forced to splash the cash. According to the report, Cagliari value Barella at more than €40 million.
Arsenal may be on the lookout for fresh midfield options in the upcoming transfer window, with Aaron Ramsey looking all but set to depart in the near future.
