Arsenal are reporteldy believed to be in advanced talks over a deal to sign Brazilian defender Emerson in January.
According to a report from Otempo, as cited on Fox Sports, the Gunners are keen to snap up the Atletico Mineiro defender in the new year.
The 19-year-old has been impressing in his native Brazil and the Gunners believe that they could have found their long-term solution to the right-back position.
Stephan Lichtsteiner was signed in the summer to push Hector Bellerin for a starting spot at the Emirates, but the former Juventus man is unlikely to remain at the club for long having only arrived on a short-term deal.
A host of top European clubs, including Barcelona and Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain are said to be tracking Emerson, so concluding a January deal to sign the Brazilian would come as a major coup for the Gunners.
