# Aubameyang furious with Gabon FA

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed his frustration at the Gabon FA after they failed to state that he was out of the squad due to injury.

Aubameyang recently picked up a back injury which has ruled him out of international duty, but Gabon opted to leave that detail out when announcing that he was not part of the squad.

Arsenal’s medical team sent Gabon an email stating that Aubameyang had a back injury, with the FA initially failing to acknowledge this as the reason behind his absence.

[Speaking to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/pierre-emerick-aubameyang-blasts-gabon-13591343) Aubameyang said this:

> It’s bizarre. Any FA will publish the reason why one of its players can’t report for international duty.

> But in this case, our association definitely received an e-mail from my doctor (saying I am injured). However, they still haven’t made this fact public.

> People are going to say that Aubameyang declined to turn up. It looks as though I have refused to come along for a different reason.

The forward has been in prolific form for Arsenal so far this season, with nine goals in all competitions – seven of which have come in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old striker has scored 24 goals in 58 caps for Gabon since making his senior bow in 2009.
