Things are going well for Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso this season.
The 23-year-old has been in excellent form and as such, he’s been called up to the Spanish national squad by Luis Enrique.
Furthermore, two of Europe’s biggest clubs are said to be interested in him, as per reports in Spain.
Firstly, Real Madrid, who sold Hermoso to Espanyol in 2017, are considering bringing the central defender back to the Santiago Bernabeu for a cut-price of €7.5m due to a clause in his contract.

However, Arsenal manager Unai Emery is said to be keen on the defender too, but his side would likely need to pay upwards of €40m to sign the Spaniard.
Real Madrid seemingly hold all the cards in terms of Hermoso’s future. Not only do they have the option to re-sign him for €7.5m, but they are also entitled to 50% of the fee made by Espanyol if they sell him to another club.
Madrid have previous form of buying back ex-players cheaply then selling them on; they did that with Alvaro Morata for example, and that is very much an option open to them in the case of Hermoso too.
