Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been forced to withdraw from the France national squad on the same day that he was handed a late call-up.
Lacazette had been selected for France’s upcoming fixtures by national team boss Didier Deschamps following the news of Manchester United star Anthony Martial’s injury problem.
However, the former Lyon star will not be linking up with his compatriots over the international break, it has been confirmed, with the player immediately withdrawing from Deschamps’ squad.

Lacazette has been in impressive form for Arsenal in the early stages of the new season and has established himself as a talismanic figure for Unai Emery’s men.
This positive form appears to have earned him international recognition, but he will be unavailable for France as they prepare to face Netherlands and Uruguay.
Lacazette’s place in the France squad has been taken by Borussia Monchengladbach striker Alassane Plea.
