Arsenal target Andersen pens new Sampdoria deal

Reported Arsenal target Joachim Andersen has put pen to paper on a new contract at Sampdoria.

The Denmark international has officially extended his stay with the Serie A club, penning a deal that will run until 2022.

Andersen has been in impressive form for Sampdoria throughout the course of the 2018/19 season so far. His displays appeared to have piqued the interest of several clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.

The Gunners had been linked with a move for the promising central defender, with Inter Milan also reported to have followed him closely in recent months.

However, Andersen has turned down interest from elsewhere to reaffirm his commitment to the cause at Sampdoria, with a new contract confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account.

Manchester United had also been linked with a move to sign Andersen, but it seems the player will not be heading to the Premier League any time soon.
