Arsenal fan lands Tottenham in hot water for stadium claims

One Arsenal fan could have just landed Tottenham in a whole lot of trouble for claims they made about watching Champions League football in their new stadium.

The London Evening Standard reports that one Arsenal fan has reported the club to the Advertising Standards Authority because they promised supporters that the stadium would be ‘the only place to watch Uefa Champions League in London’, in what was a clear dig at local rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

Following their mixed form in Europe this season, coupled with the delays of the stadium opening, there is now a serious possibility that Spurs could either fall into the Europa League, along with Chelsea and Arsenal or out of European competitions all together before they unveil their new ground.

The report suggests that Spurs are unlikely to be investigated for the advert, but have been given with an ‘Advice Notice’, as well as being warned about the prospect of making claims that they cannot fulfil when advertising.
