# England considering Nelson call-up

Gareth Southgate is considering a call-up for Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson, who is on loan in the Bundesliga.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-star-arsenal-whizkid-ones-13552045) England are potentially ready to give Nelson his first senior call-up after his impressive start to the season.

Nelson joined Hoffenheim on a season-long loan from Arsenal in an attempt to find more regular game-time at senior level.

The 18-year-old has had a flying start to life in Germany, with five goals in six Bundesliga appearances this season.

The teen made 16 first-team appearances for Arsenal last season, with only three of them coming in the Premier League.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho was called up to England’s last squad, which gave Nelson hope that Southgate would give him a chance if he continued to impress for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this year.

He has been doing that, and now looks set for his first ever senior call to the England team.
