Arsenal make contact over deal to sign Benatia from Juventus

Arsenal have reportedly made contact over a deal to sign Medhi Benatia from Juventus in January.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Gunners have made the ‘first contacts’ over a potential deal to sign the Morrocan international.

The player is believed to be unhappy at the Old Lady after falling out of favour this season.

Leonardo Bonucci’s return from Milan has seen the defender drop down to the bench and the former Roma man wants to be playing regularly at this stage in his career.

Arsenal were linked with the player during the summer after it was suggested he could be on the move in the near future.

It now looks like Unai Emery’s men are ready to go back in for the player during the January transfer window.

Italian rivals Milan have also been credited with an interest with Gennaro Gattuso’s men in the hunt for another central defender after losing Mattia Caldara to injury.
