Arsenal may be set to miss out on Porto’s Hector Herrera, who has reportedly agreed terms to join Roma.
According to reports in Italy, the man who the Gunners have shortlisted as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey could be on his way to Italy.
Herrera is approaching the end of his contract with the Portuguese side and has been heavily linked with a host of clubs in recent months.
However, it now appears that the Giallorossi have won the race to sign the player on a free transfer.
The report claims that the Serie A side have offered the player a four-year deal to make the move to Italy.
With Ramsey set to depart the club on a free transfer, Herrera had been one of three players reportedly shortlisted by the Gunners to replace him, alongside Nicolo Barella and Miguel Almiron.
Arsenal could still have a chance to seal a deal, with the player unable to officially sign any agreement until January.
