Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah expected to be fit for Arsenal clash

Mohamed Salah is expected to be fit enough to play against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Egyptian winger was pictured with a cast on his right hand in training on Wednesday, leading to speculation that the 2017-18 Golden Boot winner may be ruled out of Liverpool’s match with the Gunners.

However, Mark Critchley of The Independent has claimed that Salah will in fact be available for selection come Saturday tea time.

The forward could join teammate Sadio Mane in wearing a protective cast over his hand, something the Senegalese superstar has done since breaking his thumb on international duty.

Salah enjoyed a successful season against Arsenal last year, scoring against the North Londoners in both Premier League fixtures.

Arsenal will need to find a way of containing the 26-year-old, and injuries to left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac will likely complicate matters.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka has filled in at the position in recent games, a match-up that would seem to give the upper hand to Salah on paper.
